Chiropractic Rehabilitation

REHABILITATION AT DOCS

As a result of your accident or injury you may be experiencing pain and decreased flexibility, strength and endurance. At DOCS gym rehab a specially trained D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) will individually design a reconditioning program based upon your diagnosis that will help you regain your flexibility, strength and endurance, and will help to decrease your level of pain.

ENTRANCE

If you are experiencing sub-acute or chronic pain your physician or other health care practitioner may refer you to DOCS gym rehab where you will have an evaluation with our Clinical Exercise Director. Your medical history will be reviewed, your physical status evaluated, and goals established for your progress. You will then be referred to DOCS gym rehab.

EXERCISE PROGRAMMING

If you are not physically ready for medically supervised rehab, you may be referred to other components of the training center for “prehab” exercises, physical therapy, pain management, work hardening, or functional electrical muscle stimulation therapy. These components may also be utilized in conjunction with the “low tech, hight efficiency” rehab portion of the program.

Once ready for DOCS rehab, you will have a Structural evaluation and Functional Musculoskeletal Evaluation to determine baseline values for strength and range of motion. You will then begin your four to six weeks of medically supervised Exercise, two to three times each week for approximately 8 to 18 sessions (our average is 12). The Centers utilize bodyweight exercises, stationary ergometers, resistive tubing, massage therapy, gait training and therapeutic neuromuscular re-education for comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning.

During the four to six-week Exercise program, progress is monitored regarding range of motion, resistance levels and perceived pain levels. Your referring or treating physician is contacted and updated at least three times during the program.
